The president of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, invited the Venezuelan people, social organizations and State institutions on Wednesday to join the initiative called by the Great Patriotic Pole to hold a world day of protest against the US president, Donald Trump, next August 10.

“I join the call of the Great Patriotic Pole, the Bolivarian Congress of the Peoples and I make it mine, a great world day of protest against Donald Trump on Saturday, August 10. I join the convocation of the Venezuelan people, a thousand forms of protest in the world, on social networks and may the truth be known”, he said during the ceremony in commemoration of the Bicentennial of the Battle of Boyacá.

The surrendered policy of the Colombian government, guided by Iván Duque, was criticized on Wednesday by the Venezuelan Head of State, Nicolás Maduro, during the commemoration of the Bicentennial of the Battle of Boyacá.

Question: What do you think about the new restrictions that the US administration has imposed on Venezuela? Will they influence the process of the intra-Venezuelan dialogue?

Maria Zakharova: On August 5, President Donald Trump signed an executive order freezing all Venezuelan state assets on US territory and also prohibiting all US individuals and legal entities from doing business with the legitimate government of Venezuela and its representatives.

“The Government of Donald Trump for the last two years has been dedicated to planning a war against Venezuela through the economic blockade, the looting of our wealth, sabotage in food purchases; and continues with increasingly serious actions”, he said.

This Thursday, in statements to the press, the spokeswoman of the Chancellery of the Russian Federation, María Zajárova, called on the United States government and the countries of the European Union, to put aside the interference in the internal affairs and negotiation between the Venezuelan government and the opposition, which are carried out in Barbados.
